Top 5 Proven Passive Income Ideas in the Philippines: Earn Money While You Sleep in 2025!

Top 5 Proven Passive Income Ideas in the Philippines: Earn Money While You Sleep in 2025!

Hi! I’m a full-time nursing student in the Philippines—and on top of juggling classes, clinical duties, endless readings, and case studies, I’m also a huge pet lover. If you’re like me, always on the lookout for side hustles that don’t eat up too much time, this blog is for you.

Let’s be real: I don’t have the luxury of a part-time job with my hectic schedule. But I still wanted to earn a little extra—something I could do passively or during short breaks between studying, duty, or pet cuddles. So here are five passive income ideas I’ve tried and tested as a student and fur-parent.

1. Shopee & Lazada Affiliate Marketing – For Budol Queens and Pet Lovers Alike

I’ll admit it—I’m a certified “Shopee Budol” victim. From compression socks to pet grooming tools, I always find myself adding to cart. But then I discovered affiliate marketing and turned my shopping habits into income.

  • Shopee & Lazada Affiliate Programs: Once you join, you can generate links for any product and earn commissions when people buy through your link.

What I do: I post my faves—like affordable nursing essentials or my cat's favorite toy—with a short caption and link. Even a single sale gives a few pesos, and those add up while I’m sleeping or studying!

2. Online Surveys – Quick Clicks for Extra GCash

While waiting in line for coffee or commuting to school, I usually pass the time by answering surveys. It’s not fully passive, but it doesn’t require much effort.

Here are the apps I use:

  • AttaPoll – This app is a hit or miss. Sometimes it glitches and doesn’t detect if you’ve already completed the task. But if you're patient (and patient is free!), it can really pay off. I was lucky enough to complete tasks in just one hour and earned ₱1,000! They said cashout takes 3–5 business days, but I got mine within 5 hours—super unexpected and exciting! Also, using a referral code gives you bonus points which helps you to cash out faster.

  • LifePoints – Surveys here took longer to appear. I waited almost two weeks before I could cash out ₱200. I haven’t received it yet because the processing takes a few business days, but it's legit.

  • Prime Opinion – I’m still on my way to cashing out here, but I’m close! Like the others, this app screens participants depending on what they need, so you do get screened out a lot. Again, patience is key. It’s legit though, and you can use my referral link for bonus points to speed things up.

It’s low effort and the small amounts go straight to my GCash. Sometimes it’s just enough for snacks or pet treats—and that’s already a win.

3. Selling Preloved Items – For Me and My Fur Baby

This one was a game changer! One weekend, I decluttered my room and realized I had:

  • Old nursing books, comics, mangas.

  • New or used clothes

  • Pet items my cat no longer uses (like a harness she outgrew)

I listed everything on Facebook Marketplace and Carousell, and within a few days, I made over ₱2,000.

Pet lover tip: Pet owners love deals! I sold old food containers, leashes, and even a barely used pet bed. It felt good knowing another fur-parent could use them—and I earned cash in return.

4. TikTok + Affiliate Links = Easy Passive Kita

I’m not a full-on content creator, but I do like sharing cute finds or useful nursing/student hacks. One day, I posted a video on TikTok featuring my “Nursing Must-Haves from Shopee” and included my affiliate links.

Result? I earned a few hundred pesos just from that one video—and it still earns every time someone watches and buys.

Easy TikTok ideas:

  • “Pet finds on a student budget”

  • “What’s in my duty bag?”

  • “Shopee Budol for Nursing Students and Fur Moms”

You don’t need thousands of followers. Just be real and helpful. People appreciate it.

5. Selling Digital Notes & Printables – Study Once, Sell Forever

As a nursing student, I make tons of notes—handwritten ones, drug studies, care plans, and mnemonics. One day, I thought: What if I shared these with others and earned a bit?

I started uploading to:

  • Facebook

  • Instagram

  • Shared in student Facebook groups and offered GCash donations

Some days I get ₱50, other days ₱200+, depending on what people need. It's not big money, but for notes I already made for myself? That’s passive income gold.

Final Thoughts from a Busy Nursing Student & Fur-Mom

If you’re a student trying to survive daily duties and reviews, or a pet lover who spends half your allowance on treats and toys (guilty), these small passive income streams can really help.

You don’t need a huge following or a business degree. Just start with what you have: your phone, your notes, your favorite pet items, and your own story.

I’m still learning and growing these income streams—and I’m happy to share the journey. If you’ve got other passive income ideas (especially pet- or nursing-related), let’s help each other out!
